Our Production Network in the Netherlands

Ausnutria has three production sites and five factories in the Netherlands.  From here, Kabrita products are exported to more than 60 countries worldwide. Each site plays an important role in producing safe, high-quality infant nutrition.

1. Factory site Kampen

At our Kampen factory, we produce base powders used in baby and children’s nutrition. The facility includes:

  • Milk reception systems
  • Evaporation units
  • Wet blending equipment
  • Two drying towers

Each base powder is carefully designed to match the final formula, ensuring consistent quality and nutrition.

2. Factory site Heerenveen

At our Heerenveen site, base powders from Kampen are combined with key ingredients and packaged into finished products.

The factory uses modern technology and efficient processes to ensure product safety and consistency. Finished products are stored in a nearby high-rise warehouse before global distribution.

3. Factory site Leeuwarden

At the factory in Leeuwarden, the base powders from Kampen are mixed with key ingredients, packaged, and distributed to warehouses. The mixing process ensures:

  • Even mixing of ingredients

  • High product quality

  • Controlled packaging conditions for longer shelf life

  • Products are then shipped to warehouses around the world

Sustainability and Innovation

1. Ausnutria builds world’s largest gasless powder factory

Ausnutria is developing a new gas-free factory in Heerenveen to reduce emissions and energy use. By using heat pumps, electric heating, and recycled heat, energy consumption is reduced by up to 40%, with further improvements expected. These efforts help create a more sustainable way of producing infant nutrition.

2. Ausnutria cuts stretch film by 50% at Dutch factories

At our Heerenveen and Leeuwarden sites, we improved how pallets of infant formula are wrapped. By optimizing the pallet wrapping machines and how the stretch film is applied, we now use the material more efficiently.

This allows the film to better handle movement during transport while using less material. As a result, stretch film usage has been reduced by 50%.

This improvement lowers costs and supports more sustainable production by reducing material waste.

3. Ausnutria upgrades CIP installations at Dutch factories

Ausnutria has completed a major upgrade of its Cleaning in Place (CIP) systems, which automatically clean production equipment without taking it apart.

The new centralized system improves automation and allows better tracking of cleaning data. Cleaning processes that were previously done manually are now fully automated, with each system following a set program for time, temperature, and cleaning strength.

This upgrade improves efficiency, safety, and working conditions. It also reduces water and energy use by reusing cleaning water and increasing system capacity, allowing multiple cleanings at the same time.
