A Day in the Life of a Kabrita Farmer
Kabrita goat milk formula is known for its gentle taste, and high quality. But what makes Kabrita so special? It all starts at the source.
Every tin of Kabrita goat milk formula begins on a small Dutch farm, where calm, friendly Saaneen goats are cared for with love and precision. More than 100 family-run farms across the Netherlands work every day to provide high-quality goat milk, using clean, natural farming practices and following the trusted QualiGoat system that guarantees hygiene, good housing, and animal welfare.
Let’s take a look at a typical day on one of these farms and meet the goats behind Kabrita’s gentle nutrition.
Daily Routine
Kabrita farmers start their day early. Milking happens twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Goats are creatures of habit, they know the routine and are usually waiting near the milking area right on time.
The milking process takes about 2.5 hours, and each goat gives about 3 to 4 liters of milk per day. The fresh milk is stored in large cooling tanks that can hold up to 12,000 liters. Every three days, the milk is collected and taken to the Kabrita factory for processing.
Goat Diet
Kabrita goats are known to be picky eaters, and that’s okay! On the farm, they get to choose what they want to eat. This can be fresh green grass, silage (a type of stored grass), or a walk outside if they feel like it.
Farmers also work with food experts to give the goats extra vitamins and minerals. Clean water is always available. Some farms even play music in the barn to help the goats stay relaxed and happy.

About the Farm
Animal care is a top priority on all Kabrita farms. The goats live in light, airy barns with plenty of space to walk around. Their floors are covered in soft straw, and a fresh layer is added every morning to keep things clean and cozy.
Goats are placed in groups of around 200, where they can play, rest, and groom themselves. They love using special brushes installed in the barns and they’re very social!
